HEP-BEJUNE : Extranet portal and teacher-student exchange platform

The University of Teacher Education of the Cantons of Bern, Jura and Neuchâtel (HEP-BEJUNE) welcomes more than 600 students every year and trains them for teaching professions at all levels of compulsory and post-compulsory education. "We had an extranet platform made with old technology, in open source.
We wanted to change it so that each of our trainers, students and employees could access, from our main page, what we called "My HEP-BEJUNE" explains Arnaud Le Gourriérec, IT and digital manager at the HEP.
Infoteam Digital, a recognized SharePoint specialist
"The HEP servers are hosted by the Neuchâtel State IT Service, with which Infoteam Digital works regularly. It was therefore only natural to call on the Fribourg-based company, a leading SharePoint specialist, to develop our extranet," explains Arnaud Le Gourriérec. "In practice, we were able to benefit from a team of 2 to 3 people within Infoteam. The availability of this team made the difference compared to other companies".
"For such a platform, the big job is the management of access rights, and this management is the strength of SharePoint. We chose it because we are very Microsoft oriented in the institution and we benefit from attractively priced licenses. Everything is based on the active directory. In other words, when you are recognized in the Microsoft world with a username and password, it is simple to create groups in SharePoint."
A successful collaboration
"We chose a very agile development model with a tight budget. "says Arnaud Le Gourriérec. "Infoteam understands the needs very quickly. We all said what we did and did what we said. In addition, Infoteam is happy to collaborate with internal IT specialists and to leave the hand when possible. In short, the collaboration has been really good."
